CASTLEBLAYNEY SHOW AGM 2025

 

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON

The Castleblayney Show AGM took place on Tuesday 18th in the Church Hall, Castleblayney.  There was a great attendance.  Thank you to all the outgoing committee. 

David Montgomery welcomed everyone to the AGM and thanked everyone for their help throughout the year.  He thanked our Secretary Martha Montgomery for all her hard work over the past year.  David also thanked Treasurer Janet Hill for all her hard work also.  He thanked all for their support and assistance throughout the year.  He also thanked the Castleblayney Church for the use of the church hall for our meetings.  He thanked Jimmy & Sheila McShane for the use of their field for our show and also to the McParland family and Tony McNally for the use of their fields as car parks for the show.

Accountants Report: Our auditor gave a detailed review of the accounts for the Castleblayney Show.  The rain of 2024 didn’t help on the day but we managed the best we could and we can look forward to 2025 show.

Chairpersons Report:  David thanked everyone for all their hard work last year and on show day.  A lot of work goes on to ensure that the Castleblayney Show is a success.  The only thing we can’t predict is the weather.  We thank all those who came and supported the Castleblayney Show 2024 even in the rain.  We’re looking forward to 2025 and we’ve a lot of work to do over the next few months. 

Secretarys Report: Martha welcomed everyone to the AGM of the Castleblayney Show.  She thanked David and the committee for all their support.  She summarised all the meetings, events and functions that the Castleblayney Show were involved in throughout the year. 

The election of officers followed and the new committee for 2025 is as follows:  Eddie Forde - President, Paul Forde - Vice President, David Montgomery - Chairperson, Catherine Flanagan & Joan McShane - Vice Chairpersons, Martha Montgomery - Secretary, Pamela Sheridan – Assistant Secretary & Editorial PRO,  Geraldine Loughlin Assistant Secretary and Outdoor Trade Stand organiser, Janet Hill - Treasurer, Margaret Smith - Asst Treasurer, James Lawson-Smith  – PRO & Social Media. 

Finally, David thanked everyone for attending the AGM and for electing him as our chairperson for this year.  He looks forward to working with everyone and making sure we have a great show for 2025. 

 Planning is well underway for the Castleblayney Show 2025 which will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 4th August 2025.
